Everyone has their own opinion on this topic, but sooner or later it will become a real challenge for everyone. INSEVIS, with its S7 EDGE devices, represents state-of-the-art methods in accordance with RAMI 4.0. Experienced programmers will recognize familiar structures when importing S7 variables. Data points can be output as an OPC UA server and MQTT client (Pub/Sub). The EDGE devices include user management, encryption with certificate handling, and OpenVPN.
